Paul has been in the
MTC (Missionary Training Center) for just over one week now. This is the first posting in this blog, and so I want to explain what I am doing. I am Paul's Mom and will be putting this blog together. He will be writing to me, hopefully regularly enough for me to put plenty of updates o here for all of you to know how he is doing and what he is up to. You can email him directly, send him care packages, and even postal mail, so all of that information will be available always on the blog for you. You can sign up right here for direct notifications when I put up a new post, or you can be on my email list that I will send out when I update.
Dates to keep in mind, Paul leaves the MTC on January 9th, and his birthday is February 2.
OK, so, we were able to Skype with Paul on Christmas Day!
He is doing so well!!! He is enjoying the new friends he has made, and says he feels like he has been there forever! His companion's name is Elder Fuller from Wisconsin. He will be going to St George Ut for his mission. We all enjoyed being able to chat with him for a while, and hearing about how he is doing.
His brothers were able to take this group picture with him- sorry so dark but Paul's smile is just so bright here! Can you believe that smile!? I haven't seen him smile like that for a long time!!! He is so happy!!
This is what he wrote after his first week;
I love it here. There has just been so much to learn and do that it just feels like a firehose of information but I've never been closer to the spirit. I love that I chose to do this because I didn't think it would help but it has done more than help me. I've gotten the chance to help real friends that I will have for my life. There is still so much that I need to know to help further. I do miss you and it's not holding me back because I know you want this for me. I didn't really believe that this would be the hardest thing I've done for a few days but now I see that it is and I know that I can and will complete my mission and I will be better for it."
